The Northern Hawk Owl (Surnia ulula) is an owl of average size. The term hawk in its name refers to the shape of its wings and tail are long, which resemble the hawk. The bird has a round head with yellow eyes. It grows to 38 centimeters (the female is slightly larger than the male) and weighs up to 370 grams. He is about 25 years old.
